How To Start a Profitable Home Based Business (And Pick a Phenomenal NICHE to Boot!)

Are you excited about the idea of starting a home based business but DON’T know what niche, industry or market to tackle? Do you find yourself reading internet marketing blogs, resources, forums and following “gurus” all in the hope of finding that one elusive niche that you can dominate? If you are anything like most of the people I talk to in my own business, the truth is, picking a niche may be the BIGGEST obstacle that you face in building your home based business.

The good news is…

It’s actually the EASIEST thing to do! And contrary to most of those online marketing tools, tips and techniques for picking a profitable niche that are very RARELY effective… I’m going to tell you the one “tool” that almost ALWAYS is!

Your GUT.

Your instincts.

Your inner drive to create, contribute and express your PASSION around what it really is your were “born” to do.

And there is no keyword tool, no guru, no online marketing club and no automated, push button tool for helping you find your passion.

I will go as far as to say, in my decade of working online and with entrepreneurs of all types and stripes, there is consistently only ONE group that stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to success.

The ones who do the work they feel they were called to do. The ones who would actually do what they do for FREE! (where the money is actually an added bonus that just makes the work that much more fun and rewarding)

If you want MY 3 “meta-rules” for picking your passion, and parlaying it into perpetual piles of profit, they are super simple, hyper effective and I’ll list them below.

You need to be able to create CONTENT in the niche. (articles like this one, blog posts, PDF’S, audios, etc)

There needs to be the potential for a COMMUNITY. (i.e. – it isn’t SO obscure that you are one of a small handful of people around globe who is passionate about the topic – the GOOD news is, I’ve never seen a niche that was!)

You need to be able to create a CURRICULUM, or find an existing one to sell. (i.e. – a coaching program, a product to promote or an affiliate program that your readers, subscribers, fans and followers will buy)

That’s really it. I don’t care if it’s yoga, nutrition, psychic abilities, astral travel, dog training, nursing, martial arts or any of the thousands of potential niches to choose from…if you have PASSION, you will make a profit, I promise!
