A Purpose Driven Life Is a Life Worth Living

It’s my mission to link people to their purpose in life. Those who pursue their passions tend to produce more, weather set-backs better, and show ” joie la vive.” In my opinion, zest is wrapped up in living out your dreams rather than going through the motions of life because fear seduced you to embrace the status quo. The phrases “Blue Monday and “Thank God it’s Friday,” come out of being bored and dissatisfied with the nine to five.

However, the mystery in embracing your true self seems so risky. My suggestion is start slowly. If you have responsibilities such as a spouse, a mortgage and children, it is advisable that you take baby steps toward your purpose.

For those who are out sync with their true selves, start by becoming familiar with yourself. View the recurring themes of your life. What three values do you see threaded throughout the tapestry of it? Begin to vigorously intertwine those values further into all aspects of your life.

If you love beauty for example, how can you uniquely express it more? It can start as simply as rearranging furniture in your living room, or painting your bedroom and finding beautiful art and trinkets to reflect your definition of beauty. Watch your mood elevate when you are living out the values you deem most important.

Second suggestion: Experiment with your interests. Many entrepreneurs have started this way. A hobby, for example, is a good way to see what really interests you. Pursuing a skill without pressure allows you to make adjustments to your craft and develop it to expert status, or you may even drop a hobby if you don’t experience joy as you do it. The important thing is to constantly pursue and combine interests until you have that “aha” experience. At that point, consider how you can use your passion in the market place to solve problems for potential clients
